After years of work and dedication to Scouting, Olivia C. has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Only 7% of Scouts earn the rank every year, and a handful of them are females, making this accomplishment even more worth celebrating.
For Olivia’s Eagle Scout project, she created two raccoon feeders and enrichment stations for Mission Mayhem Wildlife Rehabilitation Center – a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured/orphaned wildlife back into their native habitat. The feeders were made of entirely repurposed wood and roofing materials and built to withstand the elements of the environment for years to come.
“They will provide the rehabilitators with a durable, long-term resource that supports their mission of rehabilitating wildlife and successfully returning animals to the wild,” she said. “It also promotes environmental stewardship through the reuse of materials and supports the health of the local ecosystem by helping rehabilitated wildlife return to their natural habitat. It feels good to know that I am helping others in what I do, and helping out the environment and the community.”
