ScoutPower 2026 Raises over $625,000 to Support Scouting Across Central and Northern NewYork with Honoree Ryan McMahon and Keynote Speaker Don McPherson

SYRACUSE NY (MAY 28, 2026) – Scouting America, Longhouse Council shares the resounding success of the 58th Annual ScoutPower, held in the JMA Wireless Dome with honoree County Executive Ryan McMahon and keynote speaker, legendary Syracuse University and NFL quarterback, Don McPherson. Chaired by Dr. Warren Hilton, President of Onondaga Community College, utilized his tremendous respected leadership to help bring together business leaders and community supporters to honor the service, leadership, and enduring values of Scouting.

The Longhouse Council proudly recognized McMahon as this year’s Distinguished Citizen of the Year due to his outstanding leadership and dedication to creating a stronger community for youth throughout Onondaga County.

Adding to the momentum of the evening, our keynote speaker, Don McPherson, gave the crowd an inspiring message about the importance of teamwork and leadership building a great community – values deeply rooted in the traditions of Scouting.

“I am deeply grateful for the extraordinary support shown at our ScoutPower event on May 20, 2026.” said Edwin Theetge, Scout Executive and CEO of the Longhouse Council. “Together, our community raised more than $625,000, an incredible investment in the young people we serve across Central and Northern New York. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the generosity of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and friends who believe in the mission of Scouting.”

The funds raised help use provide life-changing opportunities for youth to develop character, leadership, citizenship, and a commitment to service.
