The Outdoor Outpost is Supporting Scouting One Purchase at a Time with their Giving Back Program

Scouting families, volunteers, alumni and other supporters now have another way to help strengthen youth programs across Central and Northern New York. Through the Giving Back Program offered by The Outdoor Outpost, shoppers can purchase hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor products while supporting the Longhouse Council.

When customers shop through the Longhouse Council’s participating link or use the designated code SCOUTS2026, 10% of the qualifying purchase will go directly to the council through The Outdoor Outpost’s Giving Back Program.

The program provides supporters a simple way to connect purchase they may already be making with an organization that serves young people throughout our region.

Outdoor Products for Scouting Families

The Outdoor Outpost is an online marketplace featuring products for hunting, fishing, shooting, camping, and outdoor recreation. Its merchandise includes outdoor clothing, boots, knives, coolers, flashlights, camping equipment, fishing gear, archery products, hunting accessories, drinkware, and other items suited to outdoor lifestyles.

Many of these product categories naturally complement Scouting activities. Families may find products useful for camping trips, hikes, fishing outings, outdoor skills training, conservation projects, and time spent together outside.

Because products are supplied by multiple participating outdoor manufacturers, selection and availability may change. Customers should review individual product descriptions, shipping information, and store policies before ordering.

How the Giving Back Program Works

Participating in the program involves three basic steps:

  1. Visit The Outdoor Outpost Giving Back page.
  2. Click the Scouting America Longhouse Council or enter the code SCOUTS2026 as directed during the shopping process.
  3. Complete a qualifying purchase. According to The Outdoor Outpost, 10% of the purchase can then be directed to the Scouts.

The program does not require supporters to make a separate contribution. Instead, it incorporates charitable support into a qualifying purchase of outdoor merchandise.

For the Longhouse Council, this partnership represents another opportunity to connect outdoor recreation with service to young people. Scouting has long used camping, hiking, conservation, fishing, shooting sports, and other outdoor experiences to teach responsibility, preparedness, teamwork, and respect for natural resources. Support generated through the Giving Back Program can help the council continue providing meaningful opportunities for Scouts, families, and volunteer leaders.
