Scouting America, Longhouse Council Experienced Tremendous Growth in 2025

Scouting America, Longhouse Council reached great milestones in 2025 while continuing to make meaningful impacts on young people across Central and Northern New York.

Longhouse Council served 2,377 youth throughout six counties spanning Central and Northern New York in  2025. Across the 117 Scout programs served, 62 young people received the rank of Eagle Scout; Scouting’s highest honor, symbolizing leadership, service, and lifelong achievement.

Our outdoor programs remain the heart of the Scouting experience, and we are proud to be able to facilitate Scouts connection in nature year-round. By the end of 2025, we had 3,515 visit Camp Woodland; our council-owned year-round camp located near the north shore of Oneida Lake in Constantia, NY.

Longhouse Council had an operating surplus of $14,372 which was reinvested, allowing us to better support the programs we provide the young people within our community. Our biggest fundraising events of the year that contributed to this achievement was ScoutPower 2025, which raised over $600,000 to go directly towards supporting our local Scout programs. This year also marked the first time in over 20 years that we were able to host the evening at Syracuse University in the JMA Wireless Dome.

With the continued support of our 940 adult volunteers, 2025 was a year of tremendous growth and opportunities that allow us to continue mentoring our young people. To learn more about Scouting America, Longhouse Council’s impact in 2025, view the full Annual Report here:
