Scouting America, Longhouse Council, is thrilled to announce Don McPherson, a legendary Syracuse University, NFL and CFL quarterback, will be the keynote speaker for the 58th Annual ScoutPower. This premier event will be taking place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at the JMA Wireless Dome at Syracuse University.
Dr. Warren Hilton, President of Onondaga Community College, will serve as Chair of ScoutPower 2026. A respected leader in higher education, Dr. Hilton has championed the expanding access to education and workforce development that benefits students in the broader Central NY community.
This year’s event will honor Ryan McMahon, the County Executive for Onondaga County, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to creating a stronger community. Since taking office, McMahon
has led the way in securing huge economic success and expanding opportunities for families across the county. His commitment to supporting community organizations that help our youth reflects the same leadership service, and civic responsibility that are at the heart of Scouting.
We are honored to have Don McPherson as this year’s keynote speaker. In addition to his remarkable athletic career as a quarterback at Syracuse University and in professional football, he has dedicated much of his career to advocating for character development, leadership and positive cultural change. His
message of integrity and accountability for personal growth
