This week, Onondaga County and the City of Syracuse proclaimed Saturday February 8th, 2025 as Scouting America Day. This comes as we celebrate the 115th anniversary of our organization and as we officially change our name to Scouting America.

On Monday February 3, County Executive Ryan McMahon visited a meeting of Pack 120 and Troop 220 at Bellevue Heights United Methodist Church to deliver the proclamation on behalf of the County.

Mayor Ben Walsh visited a joint meeting of Pack and Troop 1 at Erwin First United Methodist Church to deliver the city’s proclamation.

Both meetings were an opportunity for the Scouts to meet with their civic leaders, and both County Executive McMahon and Mayor Walsh gave remarks to the Scouts and answered questions.
Our sincere thanks to County Executive McMahon and Mayor Walsh for their attendance at these events and for their proclamations in support of Scouting. Throughout Syracuse and Onondaga County, Saturday is officially Scouting America Day!
