SYRACUSE – The Scouting in Syracuse initiative has kicked off the Scouting year with a strong start. Thanks to the efforts of our volunteer Scouting in Syracuse Steering Committee and our community partners, we have been able to welcome new families into exiting programs as well as launch and lay the groundwork for new units that give us the ability to serve more families.
Packs 1, 44, and 120 which serve the East, North, and West sides of Syracuse respectively all kicked off their programs and are continuing to welcome new youth and their families.

We were also pleased to welcome a new unit – Longhouse Council’s first all-girl Cub Pack! Pack 55 serves young women at the YWCA of Greater Syracuse and Onondaga County on the Northside of Syracuse.

Scouting in Syracuse continues its growth, with plans to launch another program serving the Southside before the end of 2025.

There is more work to do, but we’re proud of the growth that has been seen in Syracuse in the last year. Learn more about our growth initiative at the Scouting in Syracuse landing page, and contact Brendan Flaherty to get involved.
