Additional Training Courses/Opportunities
 

Youth Training Opportunities include; the Den Chief Conference for boys that will be serving as a Den Chief; Junior Leader Training Conference for boys that will be serving in a leadership position in a Troop and Venturing Leadership Skills for all Venturing youth

Health & Safety Training - this course introduces the concept of the "sandwich principle" which emphasizes the importance of qualifies supervision and discipline. The course also features the BSA publication A Guide to Safe Scouting.

Woodbadge for the 21st Century is designed for leaders in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and District/Council Scouters. It focuses on leadership skills. To attend, leaders must be trained according to the standards of their specific Scouting position. The Woodbadge Course is scheduled over two weekends in August/September.

Trainer Development Conference - You will receive guidelines on effective training techniques, that will be used to present training in your Scouting units. See Calender for dates and location.

Cub Scout Pow Wow - The Pow Wow is a supplemental training opportunity for all Cub Leaders. Individual sessions are held in a variety of areas and include; Pack Administration, Crafts, Ceremonies and much more.

Monthly Roundtables - Each month all six districts hold Roundtables for all Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leaders. The Council also conducts quarterly Venture Roundtables. Every month, experienced Scouters share how to bring the BSA monthly themes from the Annual Program Helps to life. Check the Council Calendar for the date and location of your District Roundtable.
