  Fail Your Way to Success

I recently read an interesting quote from Thomas Edison. He said "I failed my way to success". At first this sounds like nonsense. How can you fail your way to success?

Well, look at Edison's record. For every successful invention he had dozens of failures. When he was trying to invent a light bulb he tried hundreds of different filaments before he found one that wouldn't burn out.

Here's some other examples: When the Challenger exploded NASA didn't just close up shop--they investigated what went wrong and corrected it. There's been lots of successful Shuttle flights since then.

Lincoln ran for office lots of times and lost most of the elections. He only won three elections in his life.

So, when you have problems or something doesn't work out right don't just quit. Analyze your failure and try something different. If that fails, try again.

Fail your way to success!
