Instructions On How To Use The Press Release Feature
 


The Hiawatha Seaway Council Marketing Committee has created a new feature for our Council Web Site. Listed are four of the most commonly used type of Press Releases. Two of them deal with recruiting new Cubs and Boy Scouts into the program, two are designed for advancement recognition and one is left blank for you to use as needed.

To begin:

 
1). Print out the PDF file of local media contacts for your unit's record

2). Pick the Press Release that most closely matches your need.

3). Type in the Media Source Section of the Press Release.

4). Complete your Press Release either filing in the blanks or writing your own.

5). Either print out your final version of your Press Release to be faxed at a later time or, if your computer is fax capable, you can fill the forms out online and then submit to the Media Source chosen. Please note that the media still prefers hard copy, rather than e-mail. If you want your own set of the press releases they are available in a zip file in .RTF format which most word processors will read.

It is our hope that this Press Release feature on the Hiawatha Seaway Council Web Site will help make it easier for you to promote the Scouting program in your community.
